The amount of flowers and plants found in Mexico is immense. In general, biodiversity is one of the best things Mexico offers the world. Approximately 29,192 species of flora are in the country, and some are endemic to Mexico. Below are some examples of Mexican flowers and the meaning they hold.

Dahlia (Dahlia Coccinea)

Regularly used to decorate and valued since pre-Hispanic times, the Dahlia is one of the most beautiful flowers in the country due to the shape of its petals and the variety of colors. Of the 43 types that the Dahlia has, 35 flowers are endemic to Mexico.

In Mexico City with local producers, you can find it south of Xalapa, Veracruz, or the “Francisco Javier Clavijero” botanical garden.
