Walk through the enchanted Ixtepeji forest

Today you will visit the impressive mountains and the Ixtepeji forest of La Sierra Norte de Oaxaca, 1 hour from the city inhabits an enchanted cloud forest full of fungi, plants and animals that will really surprise you in this 5- hour hike.

The hike begins on a trail of colorful flowers and imposing guardian trees whom we honor and request their permission to access the mountain. Ahead we begin to climb towards our objective: the viewpoint. During the hiking we will have time to learn about the way of life of the region, the history behind the forest, culture in general.

At the highest point of the trail: 3,100 masl we will have a delicious picnic in front of a natural scenery covered with mountains, clouds and sky. The way back goes through an adventurous and bright trail next to the spring, we will enter a very fun vegetation tunnel. At the end of the 10 km we deserve a meal in a community dining room mostly prepared with ingredients and recipes from the region.
