It is true that there are many ways to travel. Just as there are countless tourist destinations and places to discover. There are as many possibilities as there are travelers, and at Rutopía we like to fulfill everyone’s wishes.
Some seek places where they can have fun, meet new people, and experience all kinds of adventures. But there are those who prefer to travel to rest and take a break from their daily routine. For them, journeys serve to find peace and serenity. A small moment in nature that allows them to reconcile with themselves and their everyday frustrations.
That said, for all who seek to connect and feel tranquility, we have chosen five places in Mexico to escape the bustle and find the calm needed to start the year the right way.
This is a complex known for its natural beauty. There is so much to see here that in 1987 this reserve was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Here, a large number of animal and plant species unique to the Yucatán Peninsula region live. In addition, its various ecosystems contribute to the conservation of life in this region of Mexico, thanks to the carbon reservoirs found in the mangroves.
Visitors to this place can enjoy multiple activities such as walking, swimming, and kayaking. They can also experience a new way to connect with nature while also reconnecting with themselves.
Continuing with Natural Reserves, Nahá is a lagoon located in the municipality of Ocosingo in Chiapas. It was declared a Protected Area in 1998.
This place is part of the Lacandon jungle, which allows it to have an exotic variety of flora and fauna.
With all this, you can enjoy a tour designed to delight in the fresh air and the sounds of the jungle. You can even be accompanied by a Lacandon guide who explains everything about the species encountered along the way.
Ventanilla Lagoon is surrounded by mangroves that harbor a great amount of wildlife. This tropical land gives us the chance to walk through dense nature; among green landscapes capable of calming even the most anxious.
However, it has not always been this way. In 1997, two hurricanes affected the region. Fortunately, thanks to the organization and love of the locals, the site recovered. The community joined forces to safeguard the natural wealth surrounding them.
In the Pacific Ocean is Balandra Beach, famous for its rock formations and solitude. It is located less than an hour’s drive from La Paz in Baja California Sur and is a perfect destination for those who enjoy the sea and beautiful sunsets on the beach.
Also, thanks to its calm waters, in this area you can swim and even sail. In fact, if you’re lucky, you may see colonies of sea lions and snorkel in the local reefs.
Another way to find peace is by connecting with our roots. And what better way to do this than by climbing to the highest point of the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacán.
The Teotihuacán Archaeological Zone has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
Thousands of tourists may visit it throughout the year, and perhaps here we cannot find the silence we need, but if we walk among the various altars and enjoy the sunset, inner peace is guaranteed.
