During the months of September through December, you will have the opportunity to go out into the jungle in search of a zapote tree. A common tree in the jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula and where chicle (chewing gum) comes from. Later, a local guide and very experienced “chiclero” will show you how 100% organic gum is obtained. Being able to watch the “chicleros” approach the tree, touch it and climb it, is a way to contemplate this close relationship between man and nature.
